Locating the Product Plate on a P1 Volvo (C30, S40, V50, C70)
For the Volvo C30 (2007-2013), S40 (2004.5-2012), V50 (2004.5-2012), and C70 (2006-2013), the build plate is located on the B pillar on the right hand side of the vehicle.
Depending on your model and year, additional detailed information such as weight, color codes, etc. may also be included on another plate mounted to the B-pillar on the left side of the vehicle.
Identifying the codes:
The product plate, often referred to as the build plate, includes many numbers and characters which are associated with chassis components (sport, dynamic, comfort, etc.), paint colors, and other detailed information that the vehicle was built with.
Trim Code:
13 = Market Code (Identifying which country/region the car was built for)
14 = Interior Color(s)
15 = Exterior Color(s)
16 = Model Year
Chassis Code:
The 12 digit chassis code is located near the lower left of the product plate. These are NOT the numbers in your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
17 = Front Suspension Spring
18 = Front Suspension Strut
19 = Front Anti-Sway Bar
20 = Rear Suspension Spring
21 = Rear Suspension Shock
22 = Rear Anti-Sway Bar
23 = Front Suspension Bump Stop
24 = Rear Suspension Bump Stop
When buying replacement parts for your car, be sure to reference FCP Euro's fitment guide. So long as the code numbers match up to your build plate, you may rest assured that the part will be a guaranteed fit. However, these codes do not limit use to those exact suspension components. If your car came equipped with sport springs and shocks, you may upgrade to the comfort springs and shocks that are available for your make and model. Please verify fitment before ordering parts with different chassis code numbers.
