Ever wanted to know a little bit more about your car? Beyond knowing the basics like model year, and recommended tire pressures, your product plate can tell you a lot more about your car than you might realize. Knowing more can help you identify the correct fitment, specifications and Volvo parts for your car.

Here’s the basics

A RWD Volvo will have the VIN in three different locations:
1. Under the hood
2. Inside of the driver’s side door
3. Bottom left of the driver’s side windshield

Once you have identified your car’s VIN, you can use the following to decipher the digits.

On the main identification plate under the hood, you will find two numbers: The Chassis code, and below, the VIN.
