Thanks to a cooperative Mother Nature, the annual United Car Club of Connecticut and UConn Car Club UC3 car show was way bigger than expected. In the shadows of Rentschler Stadium, the turnout for the event was massive. Here's what you missed.
Unlike last year, the weather this year ended up being ideal for the show (somehow, smack in between to days of non-stop rain). Cars and spectators arrived in a seemingly never-ending procession, all to set up in the early morning fog. As the day progressed, the sun broke through the clouds setting up for an almost perfect day.
Now, when I say the turnout was massive, those words don't accurately depict the scale. The constant flow of people through our booth was beyond belief. Even more amazing was just how many already knew of us and had great things to say. We always look forward to meeting and interacting with our customers whenever possible (which our new retail space will help facilitate more of).
As you can see in the photos below, you could find a little bit of everything at UC3. Imports/tuner cars, track inspired builds, stance'd cars, Bōsōzoku builds, a few supercars, and even massive pickup trucks (seriously, check out the photo of the Lamborghini and the truck below). There really was something for everyone. So, rather than listen to me ramble on about them, why not just enjoy the gallery below.
And this deserves a break in the photos. What you're seeing below is a very rare, original, VW Golf Harlequin. 1 of a presumed 264, getting to see a real Harlequin is an opportunity you don't often get. The owner Evan was more than happy to share info on the car and give us a quick history lesson about it. Even better, he was cool enough to do a brief interview right then and there. Check out that video just below these photos.
If you would like to see more photos and videos from the UC3 show and others, you can subscribe to our YouTube channel, and follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
Did you want to stop by our booth and not have a chance to? We'll be at a handfuls of other events throughout the year which you can learn about more on our brand new events.fcpeuro.com page.
And last, if you happened to see our race cars at the booth and wanted to know more, we have a YouTube and Amazon Prime Video series The Paddock where you can learn more about the cars and the team behind them.
