Crazy Rare 2016 BMW M6 Competition Edition Up For Auction
It's not every day there is an opportunity to own a car rarer than a McLaren P1 or Ferrari LaFerrari for a fraction of the cost. Ok, sure, the car in question is "just" a BMW M6 Competition Edition and not an actual hypercar, but it's still hugely cool.
The M6 Competition edition was created to build on the fantastic M6 platform with a touch more performance and rarity. Specs are impressive with a twin-turbo 4.4l V8 producing a massive 708 horsepower (tuned by famed BMW shop Dinan on a stage 2 map), 651 lb-ft of torque, 7-Speed dual clutch transmission, and carbon fiber intake system (also from Dinan).
Only 100 units of the Competition Edition were made for the US market and this example is one of the coolest looking out there with throw back BMW GT livery graphics plastered all over the exterior.
Of course, this rare example is up for auction over at Bring-a-Trailer. The listing says this particular example has only 3,200 original miles, records from new, factory books, a build sheet, and a clear Carfax report. You're likely not going to find a better M6 out there right now.
In fact, a very popular YouTuber has done an in-depth dive on this exact car.
You can see the full listing right here.
Granted, since this thing already has a bid of $70,000 on it, us mere mortals likely won't get a shot at it. However, this car's original MSRP was $176,468 and with one day left on the auction, it could go much higher. Though, it will be far less than the aforementioned hypercars and even more of a rare unit bragging point.
What would you bid for this Bavarian monster be? Let me hear it below!
