Audi B8 2.0T (A4, Q5, A5, & More) Engine Mount Kit - Features And Product Review
Engine mounts are designed to hold your engine in place in your car while limiting the amount of vibration transmitted into the cabin. If you're beginning to feel more vibration than you once remember, there's a good chance that your engine mounts are to blame.
The engine mounts in your Audi B8 are vital components that keep your drivetrain properly aligned. When they fail, not only is it uncomfortable for you in the cabin, but it can add unnecessary wear on other components. Instead of doing damage to components, replace your engine mounts at the first sign of failure.
Audi 2.0T Engine Mount Kit Replacement Symptoms
There aren't a lot of symptoms of a failing engine mount, but those that there are are hard to ignore. Some of the symptoms are:
- Excessive vibrations when idling or driving
- ECM reports "open circuit"
- Engine rocking during gear changes or braking
Unfortunately these engine mounts fail pretty often and not at any specific mileage. They can fail at 30,000 miles or 100,000 miles.
Since these engine mounts report electronically to the ECM, you can use a scan tool to see if they report an "open circuit". If they do, then you know that they are no good and require replacement.
