Audi B8 2.0 (A4 & A5) Ignition Coil Service Kit - Symptoms And Product Review
Your ignition coils are what provides voltage to your spark plugs to trigger combustion within your engine. When your ignition coils fail, the symptoms can go from minor annoyances to major headaches. Instead of being stranded on the way home from work or during a road trip, you can use our kit to replace your ignition coils and plugs preemptively.
Ignition coil failure is unfortunately a common issue on the Audi B8s that can leave you stranded. Audi B8 2.0 Ignition Coil Kit Replacement Symptoms
Ignition coils are one of few parts that have quite a few symptoms that they have failed or are in the process of failing. Some of these symptoms can be more severe than others or even vary in severity themselves. The main symptoms are:
- Abnormal or excessive backfiring
- Difficulty starting your vehicle
- Poor fuel economy
- Misfiring
- Stalling when approaching a stop
- Check engine light illuminated
- Check engine light flashing (stop driving your car immediately if this is the case)
- Engine fault codes
- P0300
- P0301
- P0302
- P0303
- P0304
Audi B8 ignition coils do not have a service interval, but drivers report failure anywhere from 30,000 to 60,000 miles. We recommend replacing all of your ignition coils when one has failed as the others usually aren't far behind. We also recommend replacement by 100,000 miles just as peace of mind that you won't be left stranded.
If you think one of your ignition coils is the source of your problems, there's a fairly easy way to check if it's your problem. All you need to do is swap your ignition coil and spark plug from the cylinder you have an issue with and replace it with another cylinder. If the problem moves to the other cylinder, you can be sure that this was most likely your issue.
