2018 was a massive year for us here at FCP Euro. This was a year of milestones, every month bigger and better than the one before it. Our inventory grew, new partnerships formed, and our motorsport program went from sponsoring a car to our own in-house program. All of these highlights contributed to our sales growing by over fifty-five percent.
This year, our motorsport program kicked it up a notch; starting off with the purchase of two all-new VW TCRs to compete in the Pirelli World Challenge series. Throughout the course of the year, we found ourselves all across the country - from our own backyard here in Connecticut at Lime Rock Park, all the way to Oregon at Portland International Raceway. Our 2018 debut season proved to be extremely successful in our new TCRs. With Michael Hurczyn and Nate Vincent at the wheels, we finished strongly; placing third overall as a team among the much more capable Hondas and Hyundais. Nate even walked away from the season with the Rookie of the Year award.
Lime Rock Park was the highlight of the year. The company and their families came along to the race and our company picnic. Looking onward to the 2019 race season, prospects are even higher. The recent purchase of sequential gearboxes for each of the TCRs should give the competition a serious run for their money.
New to 2018 were the Vendor Awards and Cars & Coffee. Following our last, and very successful Cars and Coffee of the year, we hosted our first ever Vendor Awards. Shadowed by our motorsports fleet, thirty essential vendors joined us in the soon-to-be customer experience center. These vendors were all key in our immense year-over-year growth. With our new experience center designed with the awards and other events in mind, next year's gatherings will be really special. Back to our Cars and Coffee; the turnout at all of our events was amazing. Starting as just a small meet, by our last event we had over three hundred cars in attendance. This season, we’re looking forward to being able to open up our new customer experience center to become a part of our Cars and Coffee.
2018 ended with breaking ground on our build-out well ahead of schedule. The new space is already coming along more quickly than anticipated and the outlook is tremendous.
