The Volvo 122 was first named the Amazon, produced from 1956 to 1970. The Volvo Amazon was introduced to the US as the 122S in April of 1959 at the New York International Auto Show. The year range for the US model 122 was 1960 to 1968. The 122S was available in three model configurations including; 2-door, 4-door and wagon models. The 122 was available with M30, M31, M40, M41 transmissions. In 1963 the Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission was available for the four door and two door models.
