BMW Coil Springs Parts

BMW Coil Spring Parts
BMW has continually put their priority on quality and being ahead of the game, which has helped bring the brand into being one of the German big three in the auto industry. Their consistency has brought them a great reputation and is also shown in their products, especially their coil spring parts and components. When you have a set of your BMW’s coil over springs installed, it can help your handling and the traction the tires have. You can easily do it yourself at home too, if you want to save some cash. The first thing to do is take off your BMW’s shocks and springs and jack it up. Take out your rear shocks with a 1/2-inch drive impact wrench and socket. Lower it onto your jack stands. You will now be able to pull the rear springs out by pulling on them with your hands. Now take off the front shocks and springs and jack up the front. Lower it onto jack stands. Your whole vehicle should be in the air and on jack stands. Take off all of the wheels and tires. With your impact wrench and lug nut socket, take off the lug nuts, and place the wheels and tires out of the way. If you have questions about BMW’s coil spring parts or components, the FCP Euro team is ready to help.

Take off the front shocks and put the jack below one of the front lower control arms to take off pressure from the upper ball joint. Now take out the cotter key with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Take off the upper ball joint using your impact wrench and matching socket. Let the jack down gradually, and use a pickle fork and hammer to break the ball joint away from the spindle. You will now be able to grab the front spring with your hands and pull it out. Repeat this procedure for the other side. Now put in the front coil over springs. You will be securing the new front coil over springs to your BMW’s shock mounts. You will need to glide the coil over spring in position and then put the upper ball joint back together. After jacking the lower control arm back into its position, replace the upper ball joint nut. Once this is secure, you will replace the cotter key with the needle-nose pliers. Now you can bolt the new coil over spring in with your impact wrench and replicate this procedure for the other side. Install the rear coil over springs and attach the top of the coil overs to your BMW. Put the jack below the center of the rear end housing and star to jack the rear end housing until it meets the bottom of the new coil over springs. Once the rear end housing is in place, bolt the new coil over springs in with your impact wrench and matching socket. Let the jack down.
